American football
Welcome to the University American football team
Welcome to the University American football team!
The nature of American football makes us one of the most inclusive sports and no matter what your size, shape, athletic ability or background, the Liverpool Raptors welcome you!
Competitive
We are currently competing in the Northern League in Division 1 with the hopes of another championship this season, continuing our 3 back-to-back championships in Division 2. In order to compete at the highest level, we've developed a programme for our athletes consisting of weight training, field practice and film study. All of this is delivered by our expert coaches most of whom play or have played at the top level of British American football in the UK with one of our coaches currently playing for Great Britain!
We host two free taster sessions at the start of each year but you can join at any part of the academic year. Message us on instagram or email us for more information. Or come chat to us at the freshers fair and we will answer any questions in person!
While the level of equipment required to play may seem intimidating and expensive, the club has a large stock of equipment we can provide to players. All you need to join is a gum-shield and boots appropriate for 3G astro turf!
Social events
We have a chilled meet up every Sunday to watch NFL games and also have fortnightly Wednesday night team socials. As well as occasional joint socials to meet new people from other societies and sports clubs.
We host an annual Superbowl Night to watch the game as a team and have several Legacy Socials throughout the year.
