About

Dr Anne-Marie Martindale is a social anthropologist with interests in the negotiation of embodied identities and their wider intersections e.g. with health, appearance, religion across the life course; she is an experienced researcher, lecturer, consultant and knowledge exchange and impact specialist.

Areas of interest include

-the relationship between embodiment and identity in relation to facial 'disfigurement' and facial transplantation;
-the relationship between national UK health policy making, implementation and front line health worker experiences in primary care and public health;
-the relationship between identity, alternative beliefs and social exclusion in the UK.

I welcome opportunities for dialogue in these and related fields.
