Centre for Ageing and the Life Course welcomes expert in dementia as Honorary Visiting Professor
Dr Shibley Rahman has been appointed as a Visiting Professor associated with the University of Liverpool’s Centre for Ageing and the Life Course. The 2-year appointment will bring a breadth of professional and academic expertise in the field to the Centre.

Researchers gather in Switzerland to discuss the contested concept of frailty
University of Liverpool’s Centre for Ageing and the Life Course (CALC) organised a three-day symposium in Brocher Foundation, Switzerland, 14 - 16 November 2023, which brought together scholars in ageing from a number of disciplinary perspectives, including medicine, social science, arts and humanities, to discuss the contested concept of frailty.

Hot Topic: The Menopause - Women Over 50 Film Festival 2023
Centre for Ageing and the Life Course's Dr Elham Amini, Lecturer in Sociology, was invited to join the panel at the Women Over 50 Film Festival (23 September 2023), to discuss her research on the gendered and sexual experiences of Iranian Muslim menopausal women. The Film Festival welcomed and celebrated the creative contributions of older women in the world of cinema, which produced an inclusive festival highlighting films made by and starring women over the age of 50.
