Biography

Peter obtained his LLB Law degree and Legal Practice course at the University of Sheffield before working in law in London and Sheffield. Returning to academia, he completed his MA in International Criminology at the University of Sheffield, before he became a part-time PhD candidate at the School of Law and Social Justice at the University of Liverpool in September 2019. Peter also started teaching undergraduate seminars in Sociology and Criminology in September 2021.

Research

His research interests lie predominantly in victimology, accountability, and social harm, viewed in relation to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. His thesis explores how different narratives have been constructed around Hillsborough, how and why these narratives have emerged and how and why these narratives have changed and evolved over the years, leading to the key factors that have influenced the constructions of accountability and victimhood.
