Biography

Neha completed her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, completing their project 'Study on Deforestation in the Chikmagalur District'. Neha also interned as Site Engineer with B.G Shirke Construction Technology Pvt. Ltd. She also worked as High School Teacher in the Government High school in Chikmagaluru.

Neha then completed her Master’s degree in Gender Studies from Ambedkar University Delhi. Her dissertation was on the Intersectionality of Caste and Gender: Devadasi System in North Karnataka.

She interned with the Rise Up Forum during the COVID-19 pandemic to amplify the leads for oxygen cylinder, medicines, blood, hospitals availability to patients testing positive for COVID.

After the completion of her Master’s degree, Neha worked as a Research Assistant for Translation and Transcribe with a PhD scholar from New York University. She also worked as a Research Assistant with Professor Ashok Kumar on a project related to platform driver partners (Uber and Ola) which examined working conditions, health hazards, income, and overall well-being of driver partners working with Uber and Ola - furthering their bargaining power. The research also investigated the subordinated integration of driver partners in the global value chain system. 

Research 

Neha's research interests cover the caste system, gender and class, noting these to be the prominent forms of discrimination that can be seen in India.
 
She is also interested in cultural and social reform movements in India, Gender studies, Dalit, and anti-caste movements.
