University of Liverpool’s Law and Sociology ranked among world’s best in Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

The University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice is proud to announce that both Law and Sociology have been ranked among the world's best in the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS).

Compiled by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and produced by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the GRAS is recognised as one of the most comprehensive and respected rankings of universities by subject globally. These rankings are based on criteria such as research excellence, faculty achievements, world-class output and international collaborations.

In the 2024 rankings, Law is placed between 51-75 globally (7th in the UK), while Sociology has also achieved an impressive result, ranking 76-100 worldwide. These outstanding results underscore the School of Law and Social Justice’s ongoing commitment to providing world-class education and groundbreaking research that has a global impact.
