University of Liverpool signs agreements with National Law University Jodhpur and Tashkent State University of Law to further collaboration

University of Liverpool has signed an agreement with two Universities in Asia to plan for continued collaboration and increased staff and student mobility between the institutions.

On 23 May 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Liverpool and National Law University Jodhpur (India), which is set to cooperate on the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge and materials, embark on joint research activities, student and staff exchange, and other activities of common interest.

The delegation involved Professor Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice, and Professor Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, National Law University Jodhpur.

National Law University Jodhpur (NLUJ) is one of India’s leading Law Universities situated in the vibrant city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. NLUJ has been consistently ranked as one of the top law schools in India. Since its establishment in 1999, NLUJ has endeavoured to produce exceptional lawyers and legal scholars aimed at pushing and challenging the existing boundaries of knowledge.

On 24 May 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was then signed between the University of Liverpool and Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) (Uzbekistan), which is also set to cooperate on the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge and materials, embark on joint research activities, student and staff exchange, and other activities of common interest.

The delegation involved Professor Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice, and Professor Ahror Hashimkhanov, Vice Rector of TSUL.

Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) stands as a distinguished institution in the Republic of Uzbekistan, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Speaking of the partnerships, Professor Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Liverpool, shared:
“I am delighted that we are collaborating with both the National Law University in Jodhpur and Tashkent State University of Law, finding ways to benefit our students and to advance research. Working with global partners brings us fresh insight and opportunities to diversify our understanding of key legal challenges, and the potential solutions to them.”
