Following a successful visit in November 2023, Dr Folashade Adeyemo, Associate Dean (Global Partnerships) as of September 2024, School of Law and Social Justice, returned to Nigeria to further strengthen collaboration and cooperation in the field of education across institutions in Western Africa.

The trip involved visits to the University of Lagos, Bridge House College, and Oxbridge Tutorial College. Taster sessions were delivered to students at these institutions, promoting the School of Law and Social Justice’s offering at undergraduate level.

Since the previous visit, the School of Law and Social Justice has seen increased applications to our law programmes from these schools, demonstrating the success of these visits.

Speaking of the visit, Dr Folashade Adeyemo, Senior Lecturer, Liverpool Law School, said:
"We are excited to have had the opportunity to deliver taster sessions to students in Nigeria and look forward to welcoming many of them to the School of Law and Social Justice. As a School, we remain passionate about the creation of collaborations with Schools in Nigeria, and indeed other countries within the Global South region. As one of the leading law schools in the UK with the best scholarship in the law and social justice space, we look forward to establishing long term partnerships and collaboration with schools in this region. We equally look forward to contributing our quota the next generation of lawyers."

Through international collaborations, we aim to increase our undergraduate and postgraduate student intake, enhance research collaborations, and provide the opportunity for exchange of students and scholars within the field of law and social justice.

This visit showed potential for future collaboration opportunities within the University of Liverpool, with students also expressing strong interest in engineering and computer science.
