Dr Maya Wardeh to work on SAVSNET project

Maya Wardeh

Maya Wardeh will bring her extensive data analysis experience to the SAVSNET project. Born in Damascus, Syria, Maya graduated in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Damascus in 2005 first of her class. She then undertook a PhD at the department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool in Argumentation and Data Mining, and was awarded the Degree in 2010.  Currently, as postgraduate researcher, she works on several projects with different teams, covering a range of exciting areas such as neglected zoonoses, human disease surveillance, animal movements, discovering host-pathogen interactions and the geographical distribution of various species. Her work focuses on creating complex database and web-driven solutions, mining text and data from the web and other sources. She enjoys writing code, developing software and making sense of large volumes of data.
