How to be referred
If you would like a consultation with one of our specialist teams, you will need to ask your vet to arrange a referral. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a consultation with a named specialist due to our teaching hospital status which means our staff have to split their time between clinical duties and teaching responsibilities We are also unable to offer advice directly to owners about patients that are not yet under our care, which means we cannot discuss your pet’s condition with you until he or she has had a consultation with us.
The referral process is straightforward and we are usually able to see new cases promptly. The first step is to speak to your own primary care vet who will set up the referral for you. You will then be contacted by one of our Client Services Officers to arrange your appointment.
If you’re unable to make your arranged appointment please let us know as soon as you can, so that we can reschedule it for you and be able to offer the slot to someone else. You can find help on planning your visit to us on the visiting us page.
If you would like to speak with us about any aspect of your referral please contact us.
