The Small Animal Teaching Hospital opened in 2007 to allow us to provide an exceptional level of care for our patients and an outstanding learning experience for our students. The hospital is one of the most modern and well-equipped in the UK, helping us improve the welfare of our patients as well as pets everywhere through our pioneering research.

The Small Animal Teaching Hospital is a not-for-profit organisation and provides veterinary care for over 6000 patients a year as well as supporting teaching and research. From our early days on the main University campus in the centre of Liverpool, we’ve grown to a multi-disciplinary state-of-the-art referral hospital at Leahurst.
