Undertake an Apprenticeship

For Existing Technical Staff

The introduction of the Government Apprenticeship Levy has made funding available to support staff development through an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are available for all ages (16+) and abilities ranging from level 2 to level 7 which is equivalent to a master degree. Apprenticeships are now one of the Government's key staff development tools.

Technicians wishing to undertake apprenticeship development should discuss their development needs with their line manager. This could be prior to or during their PDR but the discussion should be recorded as part of the PDR process.
