The Technician Commitment Steering Group
The Technician Commitment Steering Group has been convened to advance activities in respect of technicians development and recognition. The group has the following terms of reference:
- To initiate and direct actions that are appropriate to the University meeting its obligations under the Technicians Commitment
- To monitor, review and evaluate the impact of actions taken in relation to the Technician’s Commitment to ensure their effectiveness, identifying risks and putting into place plans to address
- To ensure that technicians at the University are easily identifiable across all departments regardless of discipline in order that an inclusive approach is taken to all technical staff
- To provide support and guidance to technicians in their pursuit to gain professional registration
- To enable career progression opportunities for technicians within the University
- To ensure the future sustainability of technical skills across the University and that technical expertise is fully utilised.
