International Researchers
The UK Higher Education system produces some of the world’s best research and is highly valued. Research in the UK is complex, with several channels used to source funding. A large part of our focus is on society’s big issues such as global warming; research is now cross-disciplinary and themed to provide innovative solutions to these issues.
Undertaking research in another country can be challenging as well as rewarding. This is particularly true if you are working in a second language. You are likely to find a mix of social, cultural and academic challenges to overcome. There are a number of ways that you can access help and support which we have sign posted to below. If you are completely new to academia in the UK, or just need a quick refresh, this section should give you a clear idea of the UK research environment.
