Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) Development Conference 2024

19 June 2024 at The Spine, Paddington Village

The conference schedule for 2024 has been modified to dedicate the day to the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Final. The day will now run from 11am to 2.30pm and will include lunch, an introduction from the Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, a workshop session on 'The Art of the Q&A', and, of course, the grand final of the 3MT® itself, including voting for the People’s Choice Award.

The event will provide a number of opportunities for conversation, networking, fostering connections, celebrating and supporting the research of our PGR Community.

  • 11:00 – 11:30: Registration and refreshments upon arrival 
  • 11:30 – 11:45: Start and welcome from Professor Tim Jones, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool
  • 11:45 – 12:45: University of Liverpool 3MT® Final 
  • 12:45 – 13:30: Lunch
  • 13:30 – 14:15: The Art of the Q & A workshop
  • 14:15 – 14:30: People's Choice and Judge's Choice winners announced:
    • People’s Choice Award: by Professor Georgina  Endfield, APVC for the Research Environment and Postgraduate Research
    • Judge’s Choice Award: by Rachel Cox, Visiting Guest Judge, Head of Membership and Engagement, Vitae 
  • 14:30: Closing remarks by Dr James Howard, Director of the Academy
