Researcher wins national innovation award for AI speech therapy platform

Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Liverpool, Yun Bing has won a top national award for her AI speech therapy platform. 

The prestigious Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award celebrates the women leading the way in ground-breaking industries and inspiring future generations. Yun Bing is just one of five North West winners who were all celebrated at an event hosted by Prime Minister, Sir Keir Stamer at the Prime Minister's Office, 10 Downing Street.

Yun Bing is the Co-Founder of Beautiful Voice, an innovative digital health platform that makes speech and language therapy more accessible and engaging. Utilising her experience in computational modelling of stroke, she founded Beautiful Voice to transform communication rehabilitation through technology.

The Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards aims enable women innovators to scale their businesses, while making an impact on the economy and society. Yun Bing will receive a £75,000 grant, personalised business coaching, and access to networking, role modelling and training opportunities.

Yun Bing said: “Beautiful Voice makes high-quality therapy more accessible, efficient and data-driven. We aim to improve treatment outcomes, tackle inequalities in access, and ultimately build a cost-effective, accessible healthcare system for effective communication rehabilitation.

“I’m honoured to have received this recognition and funding to continue my work.”
