Liverpool Law School Forges Transformative Partnership with the World’s Largest Law Firm Yingke

The University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice has cemented its relationship with Yingke Law Firm - the world's largest legal practice - through a dynamic new partnership signed on 1 April 2025.
The agreement, sealed at an official signing ceremony in the headquarters of Yingke in Beijing China, represents far more than just a formal document. It opens doors to unprecedented opportunities for Liverpool's law graduates while positioning the School at the heart of global legal innovation. Professor Kanstantsin Dzehtsiarou and Dr Chao Fang represented Liverpool at the event, exchanging signatures with Yingke's founder Mr Xiangrong Mei.
After signing, Dr Chao Fang presented the range of opportunities that this partnership could lead to. He highlighted the range of new programmes of interest to Chinese lawyers, students and academics.

The official signing gave way to thought-provoking discussions at an international symposium on “Foreign-related law education and European human rights law frontier”, joined by academics and students from the prestigious China University of Political Science and Law. This intellectual exchange perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the new collaboration - one that blends academic excellence with real-world legal practice.
For Liverpool Law School, ranked among the world's top 75 law schools in the prestigious Shanghai Rankings, this partnership represents another stride in its 130-year journey of legal education. Yingke contributes its formidable global network, comprising over 15,000 lawyers across 199 cosmopolitan cities in 104 countries and territories worldwide.
Starting September 2025, qualifying students LLM students at Liverpool can apply for internships at Yingke's offices worldwide - an unparalleled opportunity to gain experience immediately after completing their dissertations.
The partnership will also include:
- Cutting-edge joint conferences tackling pressing global legal issues
- Specialist training programs elevating legal practice standards
- Collaborative degree development with Yingke's own law school in Shandong

Yingke's leadership will visit Liverpool this summer 2025 to explore deeper collaboration while showcasing Liverpool to one of China's most influential legal institutions.
