Participants will find out more about considerations they need to make when working with an international collaborator. They will find out what high-risk areas are and the legislation on exporting Items overseas. Participants will be given the tools to assess their work and know who is available at the University to support them when obtaining an export control licence.

- Joanna MacSween, International Risk & Export Control Officer at The University of Liverpool
- Based within Legal & Governance, Joanna’s role is to ensure compliance with Export Control Legislation, National Security & Investment Act 2021 and similar. This is a new function at the University required due to the changing geopolitics and working in an ever developing global field.
- Dr Sarah Ashwood and Dr David Britzman, Research Collaboration Advice Team
- Based within the UK Government Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, they provide advice to research institutions on the national security risks linked to international research.
