Facilitator: Sam Butler (he/him)
From Preston originally, Sam moved to Liverpool as an undergraduate to study History after spending some time living and working in South Africa. He completed his studies and was elected President of Liverpool Guild of Students for two years.
Following that, Sam trained as a solicitor at a large commercial firm before moving in-house at the University of Manchester. He has recently taken partnership at a niche professional services firm (Counterculture Partnership LLP) providing services mainly to clients in the creative, cultural, and third sector. He specialises in employment law but works with a lot of charities and educational institutions so also finds himself working in those areas of law.
Outside law, Sam is an experienced education governor and has sat on boards for the University of Liverpool, University of Law, NUS Services. Currently, he is a governor of Salford City College Group and a Social Mobility Ambassador for the Law Society.
