There are many ethical and legal issues to consider when involving children and young people in research.
It is absolutely critical that research methods and participant facing documentation are designed to meet the needs and considerations of the young people involved in the research.
Briefing papers on research involving children
Colleagues from the University's European Children’s Rights Unit and the Central University Research Ethics Committees have worked together to create a series of briefing papers on good practice for research involving children. All researchers proposing to conduct research involving children must read these briefing papers before applying for ethical approval.
