Research ethics handbook

We hope that this handbook provides a useful resource and promotes ethical practice in research. This guidance is intended solely as a helpful starting point: it cannot replace the need for self-critical and responsible ethical reflection about issues in research, and should always be followed by further enquiry and cross referenced against relevant University policies.

The research ethics handbook (links below) contains details of the University’s policies and procedures on research ethics, as well as guidance and resources on a range of ethical considerations in research.

We are proud that our researchers demonstrate an awareness of the social and ethical implications of their research, and strive to meet best practice through a culture of ethical reflection, debate and mutual learning.

The handbook is intended as a helpful guide to all users of the University’s research ethics process: from senior staff, to students, to everyone involved or interested in the research process.
