Biomedical Electron Microscopy Unit
The Electron Microscopy Facility is fully equipped for transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and serial block faces SEM (SBF-SEM). We are specialists in correlative light-electron microscopy (CLEM) and volumeCLEM. We also work with our colleagues in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to provide seamless multi-modal workflows.
Cell sorting and Mass Cytometry Facility
The Cell Sorting and Mass Cytometry facility offers researchers analytical flow cytometers and cell sorting, flow and imaging mass cytometry, single cell secretomics and proteomics, as well as cytokine profiling.
Centre for Cell Imaging
The University of Liverpool’s Centre for Cell Imaging is a world-class microscopy resource, a member of the UK Node of Euro-BioImaging, and is listed in the Royal Microscopy Society national database. The Centre provides a state-of-the-art suite of custom designed, temperature-controlled rooms optimal for live cell imaging.
Centre for Pre-Clinical Imaging
The Centre for Pre-Clinical Imaging offers researchers state-of-the-art technologies for multi-modality, non-invasive approaches to imaging on small, live animals (in vivo), or tissues and organs extracted from animals (ex vivo).
High-Field NMR Facility
The High-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility offers researchers state-of-the-art solution-state and solid-state NMR technologies to determine the content and purity of a sample as well as its molecular structure, interactions and chemometrics of biological mixtures.
Histology
The newly established Histology Shared Research Facility encompasses two well-equipped laboratories that offer researchers the full histological process from preparing your samples through to scanning images.
Liverpool Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre (LiMRIC)
The Liverpool Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre (LiMRIC) offers researchers the necessary infrastructure and expertise for human research. Equipment and resources are supported by experienced research radiographers to help you get the best quality data.
