The concept of high-end ethical products with no smell using safer ingredients is key to our brand ethos, and integral to the niche market opportunity we have developed over the last few years. We have launched in cosmetic retail chain SpaceNK and partnered with many luxury hotel spas including BVLGARI, St.Regis, Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, and Marriott.
In the next 12 months, I will be launching the brand in the US through department and cosmetics stores. The brand has been featured in Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire magazines, which is very exciting. We collaborated with famous fashion designers and partners for Shanghai Fashion Week. I hope to target New York fashion week once the brand becomes more established in the US.
Prior to creating COLORMAD, I worked in exporting skincare brands, which is where I identified an opportunity to meet the needs of a lifestyle market looking for natural high-end products. In the future, I hope to expand into other cosmetics.
Studying the MBA was inspiring, learning about different cultures and business cultures, it also offered a new systematic way of thinking. I really enjoyed living in Liverpool, it is an interesting and dynamic city with great music and social culture. I visited the city, and its unique atmosphere made it feel like the right choice for me.
My tips for aspiring students and graduates is to be persistent in what you believe in, research your industry really well. There are always up and downs. I enjoy being my own boss, it’s in my blood, and I like being in control of the decisions. Although it can be tough to make some choices, is give you the freedom to do as your heart desires.
