Please note there is no registration fee for the final project meeting, however, registration is required. To register to attend this meeting, please notify Peris Roberts at the QWeCI Project Office: Peris.Roberts@liv.ac.uk
When registering please could you also advise of any special dietary and/or accessibility requirements, and whether you would be interested in the evening historical tour - see Evening activities
There are two accommodation options available at discounted rates (note that both have different booking deadlines):
Accommodation is available at the Confortel Barcelona where the meeting is being held. Forty discounted rooms (arriving on or after May 15th and departing on or before May 19th) are available on a first-come first-served basis at a rate of €130 + 10% VAT per room per night for a single room including breakfast and €140 + 10% VAT per room per night for a double room including breakfast. A tourist tax of €1.21 per person per night is also payable. To book these rooms please contact Sheila Rodriguez at the hotel srodriguez.confortel@once.es providing first name, surname, arrival and departure date, credit card number as the booking guarantee. Do not contact the hotel reception as they will be unaware of this rate. These rooms must be booked by April 15th 2013.
A block booking of 10 rooms only has been made at the Holiday Inn Express, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Confortel. At the Holiday Inn Express rooms are € 82 VAT included, and breakfast and wifi also included. There is a tourist tax of € 0.72 per person and night. The deadline to book is April 22nd. To book, send an e-mail to express.barcelonacity@continentalhotels.eu stating your first name, surname, check in and check out dates, credit card number and its expiry date, and reference the QWeCI project.
Of course you are also free to make your own accommodation arrangements elsewhere!
Venue and travel arrangements
The project meeting will be held at the Confortel Barcelona www.confortelbarcelona.com/
Public transport: Aerobus and underground. First you have to take a bus called Aerobus from the airport - you can buy your ticket from the staff at the bus stop (cash only payment), at the automatic sales machines (payment by credit card) or by paying the bus driver (cash only). Notes of up to €20 only are accepted. There are two alternatives:
- Single ticket: € 5.90 valid for one person and his/her luggage and valid up to one hour after purchasing.
- Return ticket: € 10.20 valid for person and his/her luggage. Valid GOING up to 1 hour after purchasing and valid RETURN up to 9 days after purchasing. You must keep the ticket in order to exchange it for the return ticket trip.

After the bus you will have to take the underground and the price of a single ticket is €2.
Evening activities
Professor Mariano Barriendos has kindly offered to host a historical walking tour of Barcelona: Barcelona historical tour
The attached presentation provides information about this optional tour which will run for up to 3 hours in the evening. Please note that places will be limited and details are still being finalised - it would be useful if you could advise when registering whether or not this tour would be of interest.
A final project dinner is being organised and will be held at 9pm on Friday May 17th. This will be open to all including those who have participated in the historical tour. Details are still being finalised and more information will be provided in due course.
