Background
Hannah Acton read Hispanic Studies at The University of Nottingham, graduating in 2016. On a year abroad as part of her programme, she spent time living in Colombia and Brazil. In Colombia, Hannah worked at Universidad del Rosario, helping staff and students to develop their English language and academic writing skills. Additionally, she organised engaging events and summer schools to build linguistic ability whilst exposing attendees to Anglophone culture. Post-graduation, Hannah resumed her role in Colombia for an additional two years.
Returning to the UK in 2018, she joined the The University of Liverpool’s UK Recruitment Team where she gained experience organising large-scale recruitment events for undergraduate and postgraduate audiences and delivering outreach activities, offering advice and guidance to prospective students and their supporters. Hannah completed her master’s in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies at The University of Leeds in 2021, whilst continuing to work part time in the UK Recruitment Team.
In 2022, she moved to La Rochelle, France, for an academic year to have a new cultural experience and to learn a new language. There, she worked in schools, helping pupils with their English learning.
Back in England, Hannah took on a short-term project, working as Doctoral Training Partnerships Coordinator in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at The University of Liverpool. There, she supported doctoral students with arranging lab rotations and oversees visits as well as organising academic conferences and multi-cohort training opportunities. She then went back to France for another academic year.
Returning to the UK in 2024, Hannah joined Manchester Metropolitan University’s UK Recruitment Team where she organised on-campus recruitment events and workshops and delivered school’s outreach.
Hannah joined the QUASAR Group Project T.E.A.M in January 2025 and will be working on the EuPRAXIA-PP and EuPRAXIA-DN projects.
