Chris Edmonds and Ricardo Torres, from the QUASAR gGroup, went to Birmingham on 14th September to participate in the INTERACT Symposium. INTERACT is a physics outreach symposium organised by STFC, the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the South East Physics Network Outreach (SEPnet).

Chris and Ricardo presented a session entitled ‘Particle accelerators for teenagers’ in which they shared their experience in running a series of workshops for children in Daresbury Laboratory and introduced the acceleratAR app as a novel way to engage students with accelerator science using augmented reality.

The conference offered a great opportunity to share experiences, gain skills, learn new ways to engage with audiences and see what others involved in public engagement are doing.
