QUASAR contributes to ESS Forum in Sweden

Mark Ibison visited the ESS offices in Lund between 9th and 11th February 2016. At an initial 1-day meeting to formally introduce the In-Kind contribution of the University of Oslo to the ESS project, Mark described the work carried out to date on the optical system for the ESS Target Diagnostics.

Then during the main ESS Beam Diagnostics Forum sessions which followed, he gave a talk on the status of the optical design, covering more general aspects including concepts and methodology.

There was also an opportunity to visit the ESS construction site which is gradually taking shape, with the accelerator tunnel now almost completed.
