About QUASAR

The Quantum Systems and advanced Accelerator Research (QUASAR) Group is an internationally structured research group, carrying out discovery science with antimatter and developing the next generation of particle accelerator technologies.

We have been leading pan-European research networks across physics, engineering and life sciences to educate the next generation of accelerator scientists and technologists for more than a decade. In combination, we have coordinated the training of more than 100 Marie Curie Fellows.

Our research is realized in close collaboration with our national and international partners, enhanced by the unique facilities at Daresbury Laboratory and the Cockcroft Institute, as well as our collaboration partners from around the world.

Our research activities include:

We are coordinating the EuPRAXIA Doctoral Network (EuPRAXIA-DN) and the Centre for Doctoral Training for Innovation in Data Intensive Science (LIV.INNO). We are a partner in the EuPRAXIA Preparatory Phase (EuPRAXIA-PP), FCCIS and AWAKE projects.

We previously initiated and coordinated the highly successful large scale DITANETLA³NEToPACOMA, and AVA networks, as well as the CDT LIV.DAT

Our wide-ranging outreach and public engagement activities take an imaginative approach to make the benefits of accelerator research fascinating and understandable.
