About
Tom joined the University as a Project Manager in the Faculty of Science and Engineering in 2004. In 2009, he moved to HLS, managing the newly established Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease, and leading teams across multiple locations and disciplines, and overseeing the design of a new purpose-built research facility, the William Henry Duncan Building. His work at the Faculty means he has a good understanding of teaching and research activities, including the clinical research portfolio. Tom was seconded to the role of Strategic Project Manager for Project SHAPE in 2018, helping develop and deliver the new Faculty strategy and structure. Following the successful transition to the new Faculty structure in 2019 Tom moved to his current role as Head of Operations for the Institute of Population Health.
Tom helped lead the University’s first successful Athena SWAN application in 2014 and continues to be actively involved in Athena SWAN and EDI activity.
