About
Rachel is one of the health economists in the LRiG team, with her main role to critically appraise the evidence submitted by companies to the NICE Technology Appraisals programme.
Rachel obtained a MSc in Economics and Health Economics in 2010 and subsequently joined academia at the University of Liverpool working on economic evaluations alongside early phase clinical trials, and providing training on health economic methodology to healthcare professionals. Prior to joining LRiG, Rachel worked at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) producing clinical guidelines in the Internal (in-house) Guidelines Programme. Rachel has diverse experience as a health economist from producing original cost-utility analysis that forms the basis of national guidance to contributing to economic evaluation in areas where traditional health economic methodology is more challenging to implement. She has skills in both producing technical pieces of work of clinical relevance and delivering the key messages in a translatable format to non-experts.
