About
My research focuses on supporting the wellbeing of people living with dementia and their carers. My qualitative PhD was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and involved remote interviews with carers and health and social care professionals in relation to the maintenance of wellbeing for people living with dementia and their carers during the hospital discharge process. The impact of Covid- 19 on the hospital discharge process was also explored within this project. Additionally, a systematic review of the hospital discharge process was undertaken. Previous to embarking on the PhD, I was a research assistant at Newcastle University and participated in projects involving ethnography, focus group data and qualitative interviews in the hospital context to facilitate the development of hospital-based toolkits for people living with dementia. I work alongside Dr Clarissa Giebel within the Liverpool Dementia & Ageing Research Forum which aims to provide a network to share research, lived experience and best practice amongst carers, health and social care professionals and academic practitioners.
