The Effect of Love, Vulnerable Narcissism, Secondary Psychopathy and Online Self presentation on Cyber Dating Abuse (CDA) Perpetration
What is the study investigating?
- This study will investigate individual differences and relationship factors in relation to CDA perpetration.
- CDA is abuse which occurs within romatic and dating relationships through technology, and can include controlling a partner's social media accounts, repeatedly checking their location or sending threatening messages.
- Investigating the variables and motivations connected to CDA perpetration will help to increase our overall understanding and awareness of this type of abuse.
Who can take part?
- Those over 18 years old.
- Are fluent in English.
- Those who currently use or have previously used social media or online dating platforms/apps.
- Those who are in or have previously had a dating or romantic relationship.
What does the study involve?
- You will complete an online questionnaire regarding your demographics, your most recent relationship, your feelings and behaviours whilst online, your personality traits and your experiences of CDA.
- The study will take around 20 minutes to complete, responses will be anonymous.
Please note: If you have been a victim of CDA, believe you may become distressed by the topic or suffer from an existing mental illness, please consider not taking part.
