Professional Services staff from across the Institute of Population Health met for an Away Day at Chester Zoo

Professional Services staff from the Department of Psychology and wider Institute of Population Health (IPH) visited Chester Zoo for their Away Day on Thursday 16 November.

During the day, over 90 members of staff were split into animal themed groups and were able to network with others from across the Institute.

The groups took part in a number of sessions including a discussion about the 2031 University Values and the 'Keys to Resilience,' where they fed back on how they can apply the University Values to their work in the future.

They also embarked on a scavenger hunt around the zoo - featuring tasks including having a selfie with a ranger and taking a photograph of the smallest animal they could find.

Team Otter won the scavenger hunt with a total of 24 points and were each awarded with a free ticket to Chester Zoo.

Tom West, Institute Head of Operations, said: "This was a great opportunity to bring together over 90 professional service staff, from all areas of the Institute, to focus on the values set out in Strategy 2031.

"I enjoyed meeting so many people in person, and the team exercise certainly brought out a 'competitive edge' in some!"

He continued: "I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone who attended, to the staff at the zoo and to our facilitator Deborah Dalley, who did such a good job of pulling the themes of the day together."
