The Department of Psychology welcomed prospective students at the University of Liverpool Autumn Open Day.

Held on Saturday 14 October 2023, visitors were welcomed to the department by staff and students at the Eleanor Rathbone Building.

Prospective students received information about the courses available to study at the department, areas of teaching and research and potential career paths, along with information about life at the University.

Staff and students were available to answer any questions that students and their friends and families had, along with sharing their experiences of studying and conducting research within Psychology.

Prospective students also took part in a 'Psychology at Liverpool' talk and sample lecture, delivered by Dr Warren Donnellan.

The activities at the department were part of a wider open day, with visitors able to take part in campus tours, visit the Guild of Students and listen to central talks about the University.

It was the final open day of 2023, which will be followed by Applicant Discovery Days where prospective students with an offer from the University can find out more about the departments and take part in course-related activities in the New Year.

Department of Psychology Lecturer Caroline Hands, said: "It was a pleasure to see so many enthusiastic and talented prospective students during the open day, and their genuine interest in our programs was truly inspiring.

"I really enjoyed hearing about their educational journeys so far and how they felt Liverpool's research record, collaborative spirit and sense of community made this their first choice  of university. I look forward to meeting some of them when they start with us in October."
