Rights Lab
Our partners at the University of Nottingham have published a number of reports which research and discuss modern Slavery.
Voices: Ideas for using survivor testimony in antislavery work
The full report can be found on the Rights Lab website.
Excerpt from the report:
"Survivors of slavery and human trafficking are often marginalised or tokenised in the antislavery movement: expected to tell their trauma story of what happened to them or what they witnessed, rather than being asked for their expertise in learning what could prevent slavery or help someone in a similar situation. Antislavery organisations can provide opportunities for the inclusion of survivor voices – whether through direct engagement with survivor leaders or by using Voices."
Photographing modern slavery: recommendations for responsible practice
This report explores the use of photography in representing modern slavery. In this report they use case studies and make recomendations on how we can better exlpore the subject through the eyes of the survivors.
Painting towards freedom the power of murals and street art for modern antislavery
The third installment in their series of reports. This one, on murals, expolores how murals are effective tools in awareness raising agaisnt modern slavery and human trafficking.
