Ted Tavendale

Ted Tavendale graduated from our Politics department in 2023 and now works as an Investment Executive at Puma Growth Partners.

I studied International Politics and Policy from September 2020 to July 2023 and decided to continue my studies at the university, graduating in December 2024 with a Distinction in my Master’s degree in International Business.

The teachings from my undergraduate degree translated very well into my Master’s degree, affording me strong insight into international and government affairs issues that are salient to the interests of businesses. These two complimentary degrees have allowed me to analyse complex issues from different perspectives, which was helpful when I completed internships at the LFC Foundation, consulting on strategies for tackling inequality in the Liverpool city region, and at OMERS in their government relations department during 2024.

After completing my Master’s dissertation, I started working as an Account Manager for Blink Payment, learning the process of providing high quality client service in the FinTech payment processing space. This was a very interesting role, however, In December 2024, I was successful in my pursuit of breaking into Private Equity, being offered the opportunity to work as an Investment Executive for Puma Growth Partners, beginning in January 2025.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the University of Liverpool: I made great friendships, experienced exciting events and learnt many skills that I utilise to this day in my current role
