Jonathan Nield
Jonathan studied an MA in Political Science and International Relations and now works in Secondary Education, contributing to our A Level politics curriculum.
I had the pleasure of studying a MA in Political Science and International Relations during 2022/23 at the University of Liverpool. Despite studying for my undergraduate degree at a different institution and speciliasing in a different subject, I quickly settled in at UOL and was welcomed by the staff and the postgraduate community. I was lucky to study a broad range of modules of which I had little knowledge before, these include Confict Resolution, Peace Processes and British Foreign Policy. I chose to specialise in US politics for my dissertation and I enjoyed indepdently researching an area of interest: social media and American politics. My time at Liverpool included a placement module which gave me experience of comms and marketing in local government, this helped me get my first private sector job in marketing for a global events company. Having wanted to teach my entire life I now work in secondary education, this includes contributing to our A level politics curriculum. I look forward to using the skills I gained at Liverpool such as critical thinking, analytical thinking and research throughout my career.
