About

I am a Reader at the University and a member of the Condensed Matter Physics group and Materials Innovation Factory. Prior to joining the University in 2017, I received a masters degree from the University of Oxford (2006) and PhD from Imperial College London (2011). I have held positions within the University of Cambridge and University of Minnesota, including a Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship (2012-2015) and early career lectureship (2014-2017) based at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. My research focusses on spin transport in nanoscopic thin and ultrathin film devices; spatially-resolved Kerr effect microscopy; magnetic thin film heterostructure growth; and nano-fabrication, including lithography, glancing multi-angle deposition and device processing.

My current research interests include the applications and development of magnetic nanostructures, thin film magnetic materials, and spintronic devices.
