Our applications activity is split into four broad areas:
Environmental - Improving the detection, sensitivity, and quantification of gamma radioactivity within the environment for effective clean-up and decontamination.
Medical - The study of image reconstruction techniques and nuclear sources to improve functional and structural imaging. This would benefit treatments such as cancer diagnosis, blood flow monitoring, and lung/bone scanning.
Nuclear Decommissioning - To reduce cost, enhance waste assay, and improve efficiency of decommissioning for nuclear sites.
Security - To improve material identification for enhancing detection of contraband, narcotics, firearms etc. Portability for such devices are also being investigated.
