Liverpool Hosts UKSB2024

The 21st annual meeting of the UK Society for Biomaterials was held at the University of Liverpool on 10th-12th June 2024. The interdisciplinary meeting was organised by Liverpool academics across the Faculties of Science and Engineering and Health and Life Sciences including members of the Department of Physics’ Condensed Matter Physics group.

 

The 3-day meeting covered topics ranging from Regenerative Tissue Engineering to Digital Twins for Healthcare. Keynote speakers included Dr. Linna Zhou, Liverpool’s Prof. Raechelle D’Sa, and Prof. Will Palin from the University of Nottingham, who was awarded the Alan Wilson Prize for his work on photocurable materials for healthcare. Prof. Dame Molly Stevens of Imperial College London, University of Oxford, and the Karolinska Institute discussed her work on Designing and Translating Nanomaterials for Healthcare and was awarded the President’s Prize.
