As a small, friendly department in one of the UK’s cultural capitals, we offer an inspiring environment for the more advanced study of Philosophy. The modules that make up our master's programmes reflect our main areas of expertise – Metaphysics, Language and Mind; Religion, Ethics and Practical Philosophy; and Aesthetics, Art and Literature – as well as our close relationship with Liverpool’s cultural community.

Art, Philosophy and Cultural Institutions MA

This exciting interdisciplinary master's programme combines philosophical aesthetics, art theory and hands-on experience in galleries and museums, bringing together both theoretical and practical interests.

Philosophy (Public Policy) MA

MA Philosophy (Public Policy) builds on our long-established MA in Philosophy by offering a specialist route in public policy.

Philosophy MA

This degree gives you access to the very wide range of philosophical topics and expertise available in the Department.

Philosophy MRes

The Philosophy MRes allows you to undertake a one year full-time or two year part-time research project in Philosophy. You will receive training in research skills and supervision from one or more academic specialists in their subject area.
