In my research, I focus on the phenomenon of death and the philosophical possibilities of the existence of an afterlife. I analyse cultural differences in the perception of death, looking for “alternative philosophies” that portray death as less terrifying. I assume that getting used to death (through, among other things, taking up certain professions) can help in coping with one's mortality.
