Science Fiction Futures

As time and technology advance the possible futures envisioned in science fiction are becoming increasingly relevant. The department has strong links with Olaf Stapledon Centre for Speculative Futures, an inter-disciplinary research centre based in the School of the Arts. Olaf Stapledon was based in the Liverpool area throughout his career, and produced some of the great classics of science fiction literature such as Last and First Men, Sirius, and Starmaker. The University of Liverpool Library houses the Science Fiction Foundation Collection of science fiction works, as well as the Olaf Stapledon Collection.
