The University of Liverpool’s School of the Arts invites expressions of interest for the 2019/20 British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme. These awards offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment – further information, including eligibility criteria, can be found here.

The Department of Philosophy seeks to maintain the highest standard in research excellence while pursuing fruitful civic engagements, collaborative relationships and opportunities for knowledge exchange and research impact. Since 2010, we have been part of the School of the Arts, one of four Schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School also includes the departments of Architecture, Communication and Media, Music, and English. 

Those interested in applying for a Fellowship at the University of Liverpool are invited to submit expressions of interest to sotares@liverpool.ac.uk by 2nd September 2019, consisting of the following:

  • A completed pro-forma (available from this page)
  • A brief CV (max 2 pages)
  • A list of publications (1 page max – this should include forthcoming publications and publications in preparation)

Applicants supported by Department and School will be informed by 9th September 2019. All shortlisted candidates will then receive further support from their Department as well as the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, to develop and enhance their application before submission.
