Join the most exciting physics experiments

IOP National Particle Accelerator Open Day will be held at the Cockcroft Institute on the 25th November, with an interesting programme for undergraduate students. This will include talks, lab tours and the chance to talk to current PhD students, Postdocs and academics from the CI partner universities, as well as researchers from ASTeC. There will be representatives of the UK universities, laboratories and industry present to discuss research and work opportunities in the field of accelerator physics.

The LA³NET, oPAC and brand-new OMA projects will also be represented to promote research, employment and training opportunities offered within ITNs. A wide range of PhD project opportunities will be on display, too.

It is estimated that over 25,000 accelerators are currently in operation around the world. They play an important role in basic science, medicine and industry. Accelerator science is one of the world’s most dynamic research areas, but its progress risks to be delayed due to a shortage of accelerator scientists and engineers. Many exciting opportunities are arising for talented and motivated individuals interested in this field - come and join us to find out more!
