LINAC 2020 to be held in Liverpool

The 30th Linear Accelerator Conference (LINAC) in 2020 is coming to England, the birthplace of accelerator science. The conference will take place at the Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre from 30 August - 4 September 2020.

LINAC is the main bi-yearly gathering for the worldwide community of linear accelerator experts. The conference will provide a unique opportunity to hear about the latest advances in research and developments on hadron and lepton linacs and their applications.

The 30th edition of the LINAC conference is chaired by members of the Cockcroft Institute Graeme Burt (Scientific Programme Committee), Peter McIntosh (International Organising Committee), and Carsten P Welsch (Local Organising Committee).

Following a long and successful tradition of almost 60-year’s, LINAC 2020 will feature invited and contributed talks, as well as poster sessions and an industry exhibition. The scientific programme will be complemented by social events that promote informal knowledge exchange, plus for the first time in LINAC we will host a Women in Science and Engineering event. There are a number of sponsorship opportunities for all those who would like to support the event and gain visibility.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to see the new CLARA Free Electron Laser test accelerator, plus witnessing the SRF cavity qualification facility providing accelerating cavities for the European Spallation Neutron source in Sweden and crab-cavity cryomodule preparation for HL-LHC and CERN, each of which being available at Daresbury Laboratory.

LINAC encourages students in particular to participate and a number of scholarships will be offered.
