Miriam Allott Visiting Writers - 2015-2016
Entering into its third year, the Miriam Allott Visiting Writers Series continued to deliver an exciting mixture of writing from Britain and elsewhere. After the year began with the former US Poet Laureate Rita Dove delivering the annual Kenneth Allott Lecture, the Centre for New and International Writing had esteemed poets such as Marilyn Hacker and Forrest Gander read as part of the Miriam Allott Series, amongst poets from Britain and Ireland. Sean Borodale
The first event of the Series the 2015-2016 academic year was a reading from Sean Borodale. This event featured poetry from his books Bee Journal and Human Work.

Marilyn Hacker
The highly acclaimed poet and translator Marilyn Hacker returned to the Centre for New and International Writing to read from her recent work and answer questions from the audience.

John Redmond & Forrest Gander
The final events in the series in 2015 featured the American poet and translator, Forrest Gander. In this event, he read with one of the University of Liverpool's Readers in Creative Writing, John Redmond.

Forrest Gander & Oscar Martin Centeno
The final event with the Miriam Allott Series in 2015 was a collaboration between the Centre for New and International Writing, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, the Spanish Embassy, the Institute Cervantes and Hope Street Hotel, featuring a dynamic reading from Forrest Gander and Oscar Martin Centeno in the Bluecoat Arts Centre.
