Bird ringing

  • Monday 17 February 2025, 10.30am-2.30pm
  • The Merseyside Ringing Group (MRG) will be doing a bird ringing demonstration at Ness. Learn about how and why we ring birds, what the data is used for, and have the opportunity to see some of the birds who've made Ness their home. There's no need to book this event. The activity is included in admission to the gardens. Please note, bird ringing is weather dependent and bird sightings cannot be guaranteed.

If you'd like to learn more, Dr Becky Verspoor, a Lecturer in the School of Biosciences, has written an introduction to the fascinating world of bird ringing.
