Grafting
Grafting teaches the techniques and principles of grafting, which is the process of joining two plant parts (typically a rootstock and a scion) to grow as a single plant.
During the session you'll learn about the theory of grafting and its applications.
Observing practical demonstrations of some grafting techniques, including 'top working' and 'whip grafting', you'll have an opportunity to graft two apple trees to take home with you.
A small selection of scion wood (varieties) will be provided but if you have a special variety you might wish to propagate, please feel free to bring it along. It should have one year's growth and be approximately pencil thick.
All tools and equipment will be provided.
