Sam from Foraging ForAges will be leading guided foraging walks at Ness Botanic Gardens in 2025. Sam is a professional forager and has been leading guided forays since 2017.
Having always loved the outdoors and nature she found her calling passing on her wealth of knowledge about wild food.
The foraging walks are aimed at adults. Children who will find the session interesting are also welcome to attend, although the walks are recommended for aged eight years or above. All spaces, adults and children, will need to be reserved on the walk. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Dates and times
The first foraging walk is due to take place on Sunday 16 March 2025, from 10.30am until 1.30pm.
During the walk Sam will:
- Guide you around the gardens, showing you the best edible plants and mushrooms the season has to offer
- Talk you through how to safely identify each species, how to sustainably harvest, and the best ways to use each ingredient in the kitchen
- Bring along some of her homemade samples for you to try.
After the walk, you’ll receive a follow-up email with a list of what we found.
Cost
Each walked is prices at £35 for members and £40 for non-members.
